It wasn't that Peter wanted to leave Scott behind, by any means, but he'd rushed back in there and the Alpha twins--who'd flipped sides just like he'd said they would--were right behind them and Cora had already stopped breathing once. So, he snarled at Isaac who could see the twins behind them and knew, if nothing else, he had a duty to his pack--of which Peter and Cora were a major part.
He floored it.
The epinephrine had burned off a little too fast, which had been embarrassing, but the adrenaline was still pumping--possibly the only thing keeping him upright, honestly. That and needing to take care of his pack...Cora hadn't regained consciousness, and he could only hope someone had found Derek.
Isaac didn't know where Scott was, didn't know if he'd gotten out, and he was shaking, but he got them back to the loft safely. Sure, the pack knew where it was, but they knew where all of them lived and where else were they going to go? Better somewhere they could sort of defend. They didn't have Ms. Blake, anyway, so why would they come after them?
When they got to the loft, Peter got Cora out of the car, lifting her with a pained wince, but when Isaac tried to take her, he snarled at the boy until he ran ahead, getting doors instead, letting them all into the loft and skidding to a bit of a halt at finding Lydia and Hayley sitting there.
Peter noticed the girls, but didn't process, moving across to get Cora on the table, somewhere they could work on her more easily than the sofa. After he got her there, he just leaned against it, head hanging down, breathing a little too hard.

"It's fine," Chris assured both her and the sheriff. "It's not like it's my secret, and with Stiles involved and his job, he should know." Chris glanced back at the man. "We're just used to not letting this get out to many people--it puts innocent people in danger more than it helps, usually."
Like Scott. Isaac. Boys who hadn't done anything, but if the general public knew werewolves walked among them, the boys would be targets. "I try to leave it to them to tell who they feel they can."
Isaac closed his eyes when Scott saw Allison. She'd walked away--he'd hoped far enough that she wouldn't see the kiss. Apparently not. When he opened his eyes and saw Scott's face, he immediately apologized. "I'm sorry...she stayed..I didn't know when we are on the phone...I was going to tell you..." But there was kissing and he looked as stricken as Scott. "I'm sorry." He stepped back a little shaking his head. "You should go Catch her..."
no subject
Scott stood there, watching as Allison reached her car and got in. It felt like a defining moment for him then. It was either chase after his ex-girlfriend, a girl he did still have some feelings for, or stay with the boy that had captured his interest while stirring something entirely new in him. Something he did in fact want to explore.
Looking over as Isaac apologized, he shook his head as he reached to catch his hand. "No." Catching Isaac's gaze, he made his next words firm so they would both believe them. "We're not doing anything wrong. I told you I wanted this." Whatever was happening between them. "And I do. I'll talk to Allison about it later."
"But right now, let's go home."
no subject
Chris moved out of her way, letting her do her work, glancing at Stiles when he turned away, but focused back on her and how she was just...taking care of someone else when she'd had just as bad of a night.
Isaac looked startled when Scott reached for him, but his fingers clung to Scott's tightly as he told him he wasn't going after Allison. The startlement grew, but settled into something a little calmer, if awed.
"Ok. I know your mom really wants to see you..."
no subject
"Thank you, Melissa." The Sheriff was paler than before but looked steady as he leaned back against the cushions and closed his eyes. Glancing over at Chris, she gave him a quiet look as she slipped past and moved to the stairs to head to the upstairs bathroom.
Scott still felt guilty about Allison being upset but he pushed it down with a nod. "Let's go." He needed to see his mother to make sure she was actually okay. Letting go of Isaac's hand, he started to run then, knowing the other boy would be right behind him as they headed home.
no subject
Chris smiled back at her and nodded, then pulled out his phone, frowning a little. Allison and Isaac should have been here by now, surely? "I'm going to check on the kids," he told the sheriff as, concerned, he dialed his daughter.
Isaac took off after Scott, keeping up and happy to run, like they could outrun the discomfort.

Chris glanced back up at her. "Yes?"

Reaching the area of town where he lived, Scott slowed to a normal jogging speed just in case someone saw them.
no subject
Chris put his phone down, but sent a quick text to Allison, 'Check in, please. Are you ok?'
Then he moved up the stairs to Jon Melissa.
Isaac slowed when Scott did. He still wanted to reach for him, reassure himself Scott was there. Ridiculous, maybe when they hadn't even spent a night apart, but it had been a really long night.
no subject
Melissa watched him, waiting till he was at the top of the stairs before she offered a small smile. "I hope you don't mind but..." It was the only warning he would get before she was hugging him. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she hugged him and held on for a second, long enough for him to feel that she was in fact trembling ever so slightly.
"Are you okay?" Scott asked of Isaac, glancing over at him as they moved beside each other.
no subject
Chris wondered why Derek's instead of here, but he just sent back an ok, tucking his phone away just as Melissa hugged him. Her trembling just about broke his heart, knowing how scared she had to be. He wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close. "It's ok," he murmured softly. "You're safe now."
Isaac started to nod, then shrugged. "Better now that everyone's safe and you're not off with them."
no subject
"I'm sorry I went with them." Scott lowered his gaze, the guilt showing through. "When I realized Jennifer had my mom, I freaked out. She's the only one I have left." Out of his parents.
no subject
"You've got nothing to apologize for," Chris assured her. "Anyone would have been terrified in that position. It's probably going to be unnerving for a while."
Which wasn't all that reassuring, he knew, but it was honest, and he rubbed his hand slowly over her back.
Isaac reached out for Scott's hand. "I know. I get it. She's your mom and you had to go. It's not like we'd done much to inspire faith we could get her back."
no subject
Sliding her hand over his back, she told herself to let go but it was hard to do.
"It's not that." Scott protested with a shake of his head. "It's just that he said he knew how to get her back and...I should have just known we'd figure it out." He sighed, looking away.
no subject
Chris didn't mind holding her, at all. It was...nice and he'd been really worried about her, scared for her. Also, there was an element of just...sometimes needing to hold someone. His wife hadn't needed holding all that often.
"Scott will be home soon and we'll figure out how to keep the Alpha pack away from him," he promised quietly.
"It's okay," Isaac said quietly, moving closer to brush fingers over his cheek. "You were scared for her. We--I--was too. And...for you, too."
no subject
Stiles was...confused by the sight of Melissa and Chris hugging, if only because he didn't know they were, ah, friends. "Um, I can't...find the aspirin."
"Oh!" Melissa wondered if she was blushing as she took a small step back. "It's in the cupboard by the sink. I must have moved it."
Scott leaned into the light touch. "I didn't mean to scare you. I'll try not to do it again, okay?" He leaned in to kiss him again before they started walking. Spotting his house, his fingers tightened around Isaac's as he started walking faster.
no subject
Chris stepped back, as well, letting her go, gaze shifting down to Stiles, neutral and not giving away anything about just how friendly they were. It wasn't actually a question he could answer, anyway.
"Okay," Isaac murmured against his lips, then clung to his fingers as they hurried toward the house, really not wanting to let go of him for a minute, though he knew he'd have to.
no subject
Scott held onto Isaac's hand even as they burst through the door of the house but he let go as he hurried forward. "Mom?" He saw the Sheriff and Stiles but not seeing her right away still gave him a second's pause. He didn't even think about how the Sheriff and Stiles had seen him holding hands with Isaac.
"Scott?" Melissa pulled away from Chris completely then, rushing down the stairs just as Scott appeared at the bottom of them. Throwing her arms around him as he caught her, the two McCalls held on tightly as Scott held back the strange urge to cry though it was out of relief this time.
no subject
Chris just held Stiles's gaze, his casually inquiring as Melissa ran down to her son, though his gaze flicked to Isaac in the background a little....sharply.
He hadn't missed the hand holding.
Isaac let Scott go when he moved forward, hanging back a bit, not wanting to hinder him getting to Melissa. Watching them embrace, though, his smile was bright, even as he got ears in his eyes.
no subject
"Don't even worry about it, okay?" Stiles was just too touched and too relieved to care about being mad that Scott had gone off with Deucalion. He smiled as they hugged then, holding on for a second before moving back.
Then Scott was looking up at the Chris. "Thank you."
no subject
Chris came back down the stairs, and nodded his head. "Of course." It was the good part of what he did.
no subject
"Can I take my Dad home?" Stiles asked, looking at Melissa.
"Uh...I guess but he really should see a doctor and soon."
"I'm fine, Melissa. You did a great job stitching me up." The Sheriff smiled, sitting up.
"Maybe but you still need to get checked out, okay?"
no subject
Isaac hugged her back, tight, and Chris nodded at the sheriff. "She's right. You don't want to overlook anything, but...tomorrow should be good enough."
He gave her a bit of a smile. "I should probably go, too. Allison said she was swinging by Derek's and heading home. I don't really want her alone in the building tonight." Not with Deucalion above, with having lost Scott.
Isaac stilled a little bit at the mention of Allison, gaze falling.
no subject
Stiles didn't really notice though as he was focused on his Dad again. "Can we get a ride?" He directed the question at Chris.
no subject
Chris nodded at her. "Get some rest tonight. We'll talk tomorrow." The look slid to Stiles and he nodded at his request. "Of course. Let's get you both home."
